Tencel Duvet Insert
Tencel made from eucalyptus is a commonly used silk alternative, if you’re looking for a vegan duvet insert option with the same smooth feel. Sijo’s cooling AiryWeight comforter is the best Tencel comforter, because it’s made entirely with OEKO TEX certification and without recycled plastic water bottles (which I do not recommend snuggling up with.) GOTS certified wool is encased in GOTS certified cotton, and you can choose either a lightweight, heavier weight, or combo that unsnaps into two smaller comforters, so you can change the warmth depending on the season. Loftie makes a very cute and modern red light bedside lamp that’s great as is, but can also be used as a sunrise lamp. Hemp Shower Curtain Liner
Hemp dries more quickly than cotton or linen so doesn’t require waxing, if your bathroom is in a dry climate and well ventilated. This fabric has no certifications, but hemp doesn’t require pesticides or fertilizers to grow. Can be a good plastic shower curtain liner alternative. Otter Wax is perfect if you are going to wax your own fabric shower curtain liner to make it waterproof — the safest shower curtain liner option possible. OEKO TEX Polyester Shower Curtain Liner
Beware the polyester and PEVA shower curtain options that have “special coatings” to resist scum and make them even more waterproof— it often means PFAS are added. OEKO TEX Certified PEVA Shower Curtain Liner
Most options on Amazon have a “special waterproof treatment” which often means PFAS, but this one doesn’t! It’s even OEKO TEX certified. Adjustable Desk Converter
I have yet to see one of these small, heavy duty desk converters made from something other than engineered wood. But, I needed a strong and small converter that didn’t require disassembly between sitting and standing. My office is upstairs through a narrow staircase, I use a heavy computer, and I have to transition between sitting and standing quickly sometimes. It captures super tiny particles (like mold, dust mites, and smoke from cooking or burning candles) very quickly and effectively. I have one in my own bedroom that has been running 24/7 for 4 years. This high end air purifier removes VOCs, dust, pet hair, and pollen. Great if you don’t have time to think about filter changes— the pre-filter is huge, and is rated to last 18 months. The Tineco iFloor 3 is the best vacuum- mop combo on Amazon. I use it to clean my hardwood floors because I found I was never up for vacuuming first, then using our olde tyme mop. It’s so satisfying, and cleans itself when you’re done. I use my own cleaning solution— a teaspoon of Aunt Fannie’s and warm water.
If you’re busy, or detest vacuuming and mopping, a robot vacuum-mop combo is ideal, because it takes care of daily dust for you. Eufy’s options consistently perform well in third party performance testing, and there are a wide range of price points, which I appreciate.
