Humidifiers

Humidifiers can keep your lungs and skin happy during dry months, and these keep your home mold-free, too.

Moss Air

Moss Lab certainly makes the best looking humidifier, and it’s effective, safe, and functional too! While I’m skeptical that the moss meaningfully purifies the air (you’d need 680 houseplants worth of moss for that), their moss filters are actually easily changeable, can absorb and release excess water, and are paired with a cotton wick. It also functions as a mood light, terrarium, or aroma diffuser, as well. Great biophilic design.

Carepod

Carepod was designed by a doctor frustrated with the bacteria and mold that quickly builds up on most humidifier filters. As a result, it doesn’t have a filter, and instead is made with dishwasher safe stainless steel so it can be washed and sterilized. It was also designed without nooks and crannies, so there isn’t any place for hidden mold to accumulate. Has warm and cool mist settings. So cool.

Canopy

While I’m not wild about the optional “aromas,” which contain artificial fragrance, I am into most everything else about the Canopy humidifier: it’s small, affordable, and dishwasher-safe, so it can be easily sterilized. They also have a few clever functions that help inhibit water stagnation and mold build up. The filter has an antimicrobial in it, which I normally am against, however, you’d almost never touch it, and in the case of mold prevention, I’m more in favor. Comes in attractive colors in several sizes. Overall a good choice!
