The benefits of soaking in water

Water, and what's in it, gets into our bodies through ingestion (drinking it), absorption (bathing in it), and inhalation (breathing in steam). And it's not all bad-- Magnesium is absorbed through our skin and into our bloodstream, bypassing the need for the gut to do any work, or get irritated. Balneotherapy is an entire branch of medicine dedicated to treating disease by bathing in mineral springs (!). So yes, we have to be cautious about what's in our water, but it can be a source of health and healing, too.

My #1 winter hobby is soaking in a hot epsom salt bath, usually to the point I get a little knock on the door-- "are you still alive in there?" 😆. Every summer I'm a little sad to let bath time go, and I sincerely wish we had an outdoor epsom salt pool, especially one that looks like this (haha)
