Using gemstones in interior design

…according to ancient Egyptians. It is the blue in King Tut's mask, and for 6,000 years has been used as a defense against the "evil eye."

It was called by Cennino Cennini, a medieval painter, “the most perfect” of all colors, and ground lapis lazuli was used to depict the Virgin Mary in Renaissance paintings.

Some use the stone as a source of wisdom, believing it has a connection to the third eye chakra. And some people use it in the tile in their showers! How beautiful is this? I love the concept of designing an interior around a gemstone-- so you can be surrounded by something ancient, calming, and wise during your morning routine.
