How to choose a non-toxic couch

Non-toxic and “non-toxic” couches rated and ranked from healthiest to least healthy, here.

Video script:

A few things annoy me. Generic platitudes on maxi pads, the wind, and everything about bananas. And no, I will not dignify them with an appearance in this film.

My list of annoyances became longer this week as I updated my website to include 16 non-toxic and “non-toxic” couches.

One example— GreenGuard Gold doesn’t mean non toxic. GreenGuard GOLD just means something off-gasses smelly VOCs under a certain limit. It’s totally fine if a couch is upholstered in GreenGuard gold fabric, but fabric doesn’t usually smell, and most of the things that make fabric unsafe like flame retardants, PFAS, and phthalates, don’t have a smell either.

Anyway, check out my BS-free list of healthy and healthy-ish couches including more affordable, and pet- and kid- friendly options. Hope it helps!
